K-9 officers from all over the country came to Gordon County last week to go through the North American Police Work Dog Association National (NAPWDA) Training Seminar. The officers and their canine partners participated in a week-long training session that focused on helping the officers maintain their NAPWDA certifications. The training focused on drug detection, bomb/explosive devices, tracking and rescue work, building searches and officer protection. This is the third time that the event has been held in Gordon County and the first year that it has been hosted by the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office.
