Amanda Ryan Walraven of Calhoun and John Patrick Rhodarmer of Adairsville announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

The future bride is the daughter of Walt and Wanda Walraven of Adairsville. She graduated from Calhoun High School, earned a bachelor of science degree in biology from Shorter College and a doctorate of pharmacy and a master of clinical research from Campbell University School of Pharmacy. She is employed at Hamilton Medical Center as a pharmacist.

She is the sister of Autumn Walraven, Shea Walraven, Candi Stone, and the late Chastity Leigh Walraven, all of Calhoun. Her grandparents are Otto Walraven, Alvinell Martin, and the late Winfred Martin and the late G.C. and Dora Prather, all of Calhoun.

The groom-elect is the son of Tom and Robyn Rhodarmer of Huntsville, Ala. He is a graduate of Albertville High School and has a bachelor of science in history and political science from Shorter College and a master of education in curriculum and instruction from LaGrange College. He is currently a teacher at Pepperell High School.

The future groom is the brother of Ashley Rhodarmer-Applebaum of Lawton, Okla. and the grandson of the late John Wesley and Sarah Maude Rhodarmer of Albertville, Ala. and the late Howard Taft Reeves Jr. of Albertville, Ala. and Voncyle Reeves of Santa Maria, Calif.

The wedding will be at Frost Chapel at Berry College on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010 at 3 p.m. Formal invitations have been sent.
