Retiring Calhoun Police Capt. Wayne Brown was honored for his 36 years of service to the people of Calhoun and Gordon County Friday, July 30 during a sheriff’s office luncheon.

Brown said he thoroughly enjoyed his time as a police officer in the community and reminisced about how he began his law enforcement career under former sheriff HughDon Davis.

Sheriff Mitch Ralston praised Brown and said the community was fortunate to have been served by him. Brown said he will continue to serve as the police department’s chaplain.
