A pound of blue methamphetamine and $15,000 were recovered and four people were arrested Tuesday evening during the completion of a four-month sheriff’s department investigation titled, Operation Blue Magic.

According to Gordon County Sheriff Mitch Ralston:

At approximately 6 p.m. Tuesday evening, The Gordon County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit detectives and sheriff’s deputies from the Community Crime Prevention Unit stopped two vehicles on Kelly Court in Calhoun. The stop was made after an undercover agent was delivered a pound of methamphetamine in a restaurant parking lot on Highway 53.

Detectives had also made several undercover purchases of methamphetamine during the course of the investigation.

Juan Carlos Jacobo, 30, of 957 Newtown Rd and Martin Bentancourt Urtiz, 17, of 253 Landon Court were arrested and are being held in the Gordon County Jail pending bond proceedings.

According to the report, Jacobo will be charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, conspiracy to traffic in methamphetamine and possession/distribution of methamphetamine.

Urtiz will be charged with trafficking in methamphetamine.

“Two juveniles were arrested and later released to their parents,” said Ralston. “They may face charges at a later time.”

Along with the methamphetamine and cash, deputies and detectives seized a late model Chevrolet pickup truck and a Lincoln Navigator.

Operation Blue Magic was an investigation into methamphetamine trafficking and conspiracy in the Newtown area in Calhoun.

According to the report, the name “Blue Magic” was derived from the distinctive color of the high-potency methamphetamine involved in the case, which intelligence sources believe to have originated in Mexico.

Obama might have gotten them released, but he would not ship them back to Mexico. He would pat them on the back and hand them a roll of $100 dollar bills, keys to a new car and a new house, and expensive clothes. Something we can't afford.

Tatweeta....I hope they do not "free" them. If they do not, maybe you need to go up to the jail and do something to get in there with them. That would make a lot of people HAPPY!!!! Idiot!

dalegribble, good info. evidently govt> doesn't know how to use the ammo they have or are not allowed to use it! I have never aimed my gun at any human being, but a lot of wild animals. I would love to have the chance to scope in a few illegals.although if it wasn't for my forefathers taking a boat trip from Scotland I wouldn't be here either. I don't mind people from all nationalaties coming to America, just do it legal! I also hope that they would at least pay some SS taxes before using our system. I have been to Mexico and if I lived in that country, I would be climbing a fence myself!

dalegribble, do you think if we sent some good ol boys from Ga. with deer rifles to the border it would do any good, all I need is a permit! After a few rounds with my rifle I promise the illegals would not look at crossing the border, I am a pretty good shot!

All of you sound like a bunch of cry babies, just hang em high and we will get the attention of the drug smugglers, it wouldn't take long until everyone is sipping iced tea on the back porch for their daily high! So please shut up.

Mustbe... Did you really post that comment??

"15,000 million illegals in the country, you're forgetting the ones in the city"

1. that's more than the world population.

2. country is exactly that, the United States, which last I checked, included all counties, cites and territories. "country" does not mean areas outside "city" limits.

Come on now!! You seem to be resonable, don't tarnish that with posts like you just made.

Your president allowed them in the country to begin with, and tried to give them amnesty. Get you facts together, moron

These men probably came to Goergia under YOUR president. You know the one, the deserter, dope head, alcoholic. You all seem to forget that it was Bush who wanted to give illegals amesty, but of course the red neck mind can only handle so information and you've probably watched cartoons since then. Pathetic
