With a 25-11 defeat on Saturday, the Tennessee Crush may have dashed the North Georgia Bulldogs’ chances of securing home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

The loss marked the first time that the Crush had beaten the Bulldogs in six attempts.

Tennessee jumped on the board quickly, scoring on their first play of the game. North Georgia responded with a 60 yard kick return, followed by TJ Hamilton 8-yard touchdown run later in the drive.

The Crush began to pull away but a third quarter field goal by Bulldog Tyler Jones brought North Georgia to within nine points.

Midway through the fourth quarter BJ Taylor got a big jump off the snap and recorded a safety to pull the Bulldogs even closer.

However, as the clock wound down under 2-minutes, the Crush surprised North Georgia with a pass that went 50 yards for a touchdown.

The Bulldogs were in the red zone several times, but were not able to score.

“This was a very disappointing game, but maybe it woke us up and got us back on track to get us focused going into playoffs,” said North Georgia owner Kacee Smith. “It’s very frustrating to be in position to score and not get the job done. We look forward to meeting the crush later on in the playoffs and I think we will be just fine."

The Bulldogs will have a bye week this weekend. The following weekend’s game is up in the air on where the game will be played or if it will be played. More info is available at northgeorgiabulldogs.com.
