The victim in last night’s fatal shooting in Resaca has been identified as Christy Ann McKnight, 40.

Gordon County Sheriff Mitch Ralston said Friday afternoon that no further medical updates are available on the two teenage gunshot victims that Paul A. Buchannon allegedly shot before killing McKnight.

McKnight’s son, Dustin Lee Henderson, 17, and her nephew, Cody Shawn Adams, 19, were transported to local hospitals last night, one with a gunshot wound in the back, and one with a shot to his leg.

The shootings, according to the sheriff, “stemmed from a domestic violence situation.”

Buchannon had previously been arrested for domestic violence, Ralston said, but it was unclear whether domestic violence had factored into his interactions with McKnight in the past.

Is is no surpirse that the perpertrator here had been arrested before for domestic violence. The law is definitley slack in rendering punishment for the crimes committed. Early releases, a slap on the hand, and pay your fine and all is forgiven. If this pattern does not stop more and more people will be killed. We need real punishment to be rendered for the crimes committed! My heart goes out to his family and all the friends.

yes lets tell everyone that you located the suspect by pinging there cell phone. Do you really what that to be common knowledge so that every crook knows to turn off there phone if the police are looking for them. Nice......

People we don't understand how something like this can happen. I worked with Paul over a year and he was a very nice person went out of his way to help us at work. No clue at all he was capable of such a cruel thing. God will give him whats due we don't need to be the judge. I was as shocked as everyone and I am not defending him but I don't know what caused the man to snap, I have never thought about taking someone elses life but at one point in my life about 38 years ago I thought about ending mine. I was in so much emotional pain I thought that was my answer to get out but by the grace of God I finally got through the pain and I have raised a family that I love very much. We don't know what kind of pain he was in? The lady did not deserve to die this way I agree but it happened we can't bring her back but all this hate is no good for any one. None of us is promised tomorrow or we may not even finish today. Before God calls us home. God will punish Paul let him be the judge.
