It could be two to three months before it is determined why a Rome man died in his truck near the Bartow-Gordon county line on Saturday, Gordon County Coroner James Carver said.

Richard Blair was found dead in a field off U.S. 41 near the Gordon County line around 10 a.m. Saturday, according to an operator with the Calhoun post of the Georgia State Patrol.

Blair, 57, was apparently going north in a dump truck when the truck hit a ditch and continued into the field.

Blair’s body has been sent to the Georgia State Crime Lab for an autopsy. Carver said because the crime lab is two to three months behind, it could be several weeks before the cause of death is known.

No foul play is suspected, Carver said.
