City, County recognizes nursing home workers

County BOC chairman Alvin Long and Calhoun Mayor Jimmy Palmer declared the second week of may “Nursing Home Week” in Calhoun and Gordon County.

The proclamation urges all citizens to honor and support employee of long term care facilities who daily provide quality care to achieve the highest level of mental, physical and psychosocial well being of the residents.

The proclamation was brought about due to a dramatic increase in the number of Americans needing long term care will put new demands on nursing homes and those who provide nursing home care.
