Bring the children to Fairmount for some good old fashion fun on Memorial Day, Monday, May 31. Event planners have made the day very child friendly and extremely reasonable. Where else can you take your child and stay from10:00-4:00 for $5.00? Children will be able to purchase an event bracelet for $5.00 and participate in all the following events all day long.

Two different inflatables will provide fun bouncing activities. Horse and wagon rides, gator wagon rides, tractor rides, and a small fire truck ride will be on the Square in Fairmount. Baseball toss, monster ball toss, balloon darts, ring toss, octopus ring toss, milk bottle ball throw, bean bag toss, duck pond, face painting, wash off tattoos, and cowboy wild west stand for pictures will also be on the Square.

All the children’s events will be going on while adults can enjoy the Open Antique Car Show, a Chili Cook-off or they can watch or participate in the first ever Fairmount United 5-K Run/Walk that starts at 9:00. If running is not your thing, join the Meadowdale MOB in the Motorcycle Poker Run that starts at 10:00. Local craft vendors will be set up along with homemade baked goods, hot dogs and hamburgers, barbecue, funnel cakes and much, much, more. Enjoy the music provide by D J Robers.

We have all longed for the “Good Ole Days” well there back and can be found on the Square in Fairmount on Memorial Day. The proceeds from this event go to United Way of Gordon County to support the 19 United Way agencies working in Gordon County.
