The Harris Art Center has played host to over 1,000 people who have poured in to see the EGGStravaganza – National Egg Art Show.

The show features nearly 100 eggs on display in Faberge, Pysanky, Filigree and Carved eggshells.

The incredible detail and designs in real eggshells like ostrich, rhea, duck, goose and chicken. Hand crafted egg art. Some eggs are painted, sculpted and bejeweled with crystals.

Alan Rabon program coordinator for the Harris Arts Center says patrons of the exhibit have marveled at the intricate detail of the eggs on display. And Rabon says the show has become an annual event like the Festival of Trees.

"The members of the Eggart Guild of Georgia consistently bring exquisite egg art to the HAC. Every year you can expect to be awed and amazed," Rabon said.

Rabon’s eggs have also been featured on display at the HAC.

“As a result of that show I suggested to Toni Molleson (HAC director) that they may want to invite the Faberge egg artists to show their work around Easter and she did. The Visual Arts Committee was so impressed with the ladies' egg art they decided to have an annual show,” Rabon said.

The EGGStravaganza runs through May 22. The HAC is located at 212 South Wall Street in Calhoun. For ticket info call 706-629-2599.
