Local Law Enforcement agencies have been raising money for the Georgia Special Olympics since 1986, the Calhoun Police Department has been a strong supporter of the program since its beginning.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run is the largest fundraiser for Special Olympics in Georgia.

Local Law Enforcement agencies will be running this year to raise money for the Special Olympics and we are asking for your help for this great cause.

Calhoun is selling t-shirts and ball caps for $10 each in sizes S, M, L, XL, and XXL, quantities are limited, call Captain Brown at 706-602-5758.

The runners with the torch will be leaving the sheriff’s department at 10 a.m. on May 18, making their way South on Highway 41 through Calhoun, to hand off the torch to other law enforcement agencies making its way to Atlanta for the Special Olympics Ceremony. Contributions may be dropped off at the Calhoun Police Department. And we welcome everyone to come out and support our runners and this great cause.
