7th Annual Come Camp & Care With Us Event also Raises Funds For Kids Cancer Camps

The Calhoun KOA Kampground, on Redbud Road, is one of more than 390 Kampgrounds of America locations in North America participating in KOA’s 7th Annual Come Kamp & Care With Us Weekend Friday, May 14, and Saturday, May 15.

The event was created in 2004 to offer campers an easy way to affordably explore KOA campgrounds in their area, and at the same time have a fun, affordable weekend to start their summer camping season.

Come Kamp & Care With Us Weekend also serves as a fundraising event for KOA Care Camps for children with cancer. This network of 43 specialized summer camps throughout North America provides a true camping experience for children undergoing treatment or recovering from cancer, as well as their siblings.

All campers at participating campgrounds who stay as a paying guest on Friday, May 14 will receive a free night of camping on Saturday, May 15. It’s a great way to try a KOA close to home, and get camping equipment ready for the summer.

The event is open to the public, according to Calhoun KOA owners. Sites for recreational vehicles, as well as tent sites and a limited supply of KOA accommodations (KOA Kabins or Lodges,) are available for the event.

A complete list of participating KOA campgrounds in North America, is also available at KOA.com. More information about KOA Care Camps for children with cancer is available at www.koacarecamps.com.
