Shea Hicks, Chairman of the Board of Voter Registration said she spoke to the Department of Justice on Thursday after learning that other Voter Registration offices had to be open.
“Because it is not a state or federal holiday, we have to be open,” she said. “It’s like a county holiday.”
Election day is scheduled for May 11. The last week to register to vote is April 2. Absentee/early voting will start April 12 and advance voting will be May 3 through May 7. Both will be held at the Office of the Voter Registration in the Court House Annex. Last day to register to vote is April 2.
In case of a run-off, which Hicks expects, an election will be held on May 25.
