A Gordon County man was found dead in his home over the weekend, reports Sheriff Mitch Ralston.

According to the sheriff's office:

Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a private residence on East Culpepper Road near the Curryville community in western Gordon County regarding a hanging incident late Friday afternoon.

Responding officers determined that Bradley Williams, 27, of 342 East Culpepper Road, had been found by his wife hanging by his neck inside the home.

She had cut Williams down and attempted to resuscitate him before the officers arrived.

Williams was transported to the Gordon Hospital Emergency Room by ambulance where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

A witness reported to detectives that Williams had appeared to be depressed over the past few days.

Investigating detectives and the coroner's office have no reason at this time to suspect foul play, according to the sheriff's office.
