A 14-year-old has been arrested and charged with the March 13 shooting death of a 19-year-old Cartersville man.

Leondris Tyree Jackson, 14, has been charged as an adult with murder and is expected to appear before a Louisiana judge about extradition to Georgia.

The United States Marshall fugitive squad arrested Jackson in Concordia Parrish, Louisiana after Bartow County Sheriff’s investigators issued warrants, according a press release from Bartow County Sheriff Clark Millsap.

Witnesses stated the fatal shooting occurred near 44 Middlebrook Drive around 9:22 p.m. after an altercation between several young males.

Several witnesses stated they were at a birthday party and heard people yelling outside. A blue SUV passed by the house several times then the victim, Norman Moore Jr. of Cartersville, exited the vehicle and began fighting with an unidentified person.

It was at that time two other males exited the vehicle and fired upon the people fighting, striking Moore.

He was pronounced dead later at Cartersville Medical Center.
