Logan Margaret Powers and Wesley Harold Alexander were married Saturday, July 18, 2009, at Church Street United Methodist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Rev. Sarah E. Moody officiated the 5 p.m. exchange of vows. Music was provided by Shannon Prince Dann, soloist and cousin of the groom, and Raina Wood, organist.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Sutherland Powers, 2100 Millbrook Drive, Johnson City, Tennessee. She is a granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Wicker; and the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Powers.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of white duchess satin with an overlay of sheer English bridal illusion embellished with beaded, re-embroidered Alencon lace, featuring a Basque waistline beaded with seed pearls, petite crystals and iridescent bugle beading and skirt with a flounce of scalloped-cut, beaded French lace that bordered the hemline and descended the full chapel-length train of sheer illusion.

Maid of honor was Erin Sutherland Powers, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Abigail Neal, Ashley McGillicuddy, Celinda Gardner, Adair Molleson, Vanessa Alexander, Shannon Weaver, Ashley Murrell and Casey Tidwell.

Dennis Alexander, father of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Hayden Brooks, Clay Tidwell III, Rett Molleson, Major Kirk Alexander, Zachary McEntyre, Bradley Kessler, Phillip Reed and Carl Prince III. Junior groomsman was William Tyler Alexander, nephew of the groom.

Following a reception at Crescent Bend House and Gardens, the couple took a wedding trip to Antigua.
