A Florida man was arrested and charged with forgery after he allegedly pass a counterfeit bill at the Prime Outlet Mall and attempted to pass several other bills at the same location, said the Calhoun Police Department.

According to Chief Garry Moss:

Angel Wilfred Leguisamon-Pena, age 30 of Orlando was arrested in Dalton earlier this week, and has been charged with several counts of forgery and numerous counts of possession of counterfeit notes by Dalton Police.

Calhoun detectives were contacted by Dalton Police and were told the suspect had items in his possession that lead them to believe he may have passed counterfeit notes in Calhoun.

Detectives reviewed the evidence and determined Pena had been at the Prime Outlet Mall on March 5 2010, the date in which officers had taken a report from Famous Brand Shoes in reference to a Hispanic male passing a counterfeit one hundred dollar bill at that location.

“After obtaining all the facts in this case, we were able to trace the counterfeit bill, passed in Calhoun, back to the suspect and secure a warrant for his arrest,” said Lt. Tony Pyle.
