Teenager killed in Cartersville shooting

A 19-year-old man was killed Saturday night after an altercation on Middlebrook Drive in Cartersville, reports stated.

According to Bartow County Sheriff’s Office reports:

Witnesses stated the fatal shooting occurred near 44 Middlebrook Drive around 9:22 p.m. after an altercation between several young males.

Several witnesses stated they were at a birthday party and heard people yelling outside. A blue SUV passed by the house several times then the victim exited the vehicle and began fighting with an unidentified person listed as Witness.

It was at that time two other males exited the vehicle and fired upon the people fighting, striking the victim, whose identity has not yet been released.

The victim was prounounced dead later at Cartersville Medical Center.

“Bartow County Sheriff’s Office investigators and deputies are working on the investigation into the shooting and more information will be released when available,” said Bartow County Sheriff Clark Millsap in a press release.
