According to Calhoun Police Chief Garry Moss:
Milton Myers, 68 and Lee Mackie, 52, were arrested in Calhoun after allegedly taking approximately 61 Coach bags valued at $23,000 from the Coach store located at the Prime Outlet Mall.
At around 2:30 a.m. officers responded to the Prime Outlet Mall after receiving an alarm call from the Coach Store. Upon arrival officers discovered a glass pane had been broken from a door and it appeared someone had been inside the store.
A suspicious vehicle had been spotted in the area around 1:00am by the night shift sergeant and a lookout was placed on this vehicle. Officers located the vehicle, a 1990 Nissan Maxima parked at the Days Inn on Hwy 53.
While looking at the vehicle, officers saw several Coach Handbags lying on the back seat of the vehicle. A search warrant was obtained for the vehicle and the room where the drivers of the vehicle were staying. While executing the search warrant detectives discovered a large quaintly of Coach Bags in the vehicle’s back seat and trunk
“When officers approached the hotel room, the two suspects who were inside, began making demands and refused to open the door. The suspects were advised of the consequences of not complying with the search warrant and subsequently opened the door. Both suspects were taken into custody without further incident,” said Lt. Tony Pyle
Officers spoke to the manager of the Coach Store and were told the bags had in-fact came from the Coach Store.
