A federal judge ruled a Resaca man, allegedly caught red-handed with over pound of meth earlier this week, will remain in custody after his first appearance in U.S. District Court in Rome.

Charles Danny Greeson, 49, of 398 Spring Place Road waived a detention hearing on Tuesday after the state motioned to keep him in confinement until trial.

In court filings, Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent Christopher Mueller briefly described how, along with the Calhoun Police Department, they used a snitch to negotiate the purchase of a pound of methamphetamine.

Greeson was arrested at the unlisted location in Calhoun on Monday, allegedly possessing approximately 684 grams — two-thirds of a kilogram — of meth in a camouflage bag. The meth was separated in nine different baggies “packaged for resale.”

At his initial hearing in court on Tuesday, the state motioned to keep Greeson in jail pending trial and the defendant waived his right to a detention hearing.
