These are tough and uncertain times for many around the world. Surrendering and giving up is not the answer. What you believe about God, life and the reason for you being will determine your destiny.

Augustine reminds us that faith is to believe what we cannot see. Thomas Browne, four centuries ago, suggested that “to believe only possibilities, is mere philosophy.” George MacDonald tells us that patience is the principal part of faith.

If we believe the task ahead of us is not greater than the power within us, and if we do our best, we will be victorious. Write it down and never give up. I am going to share with you some of my philosophy and faith, which is grounded in the principles of Christianity. Take them with you during the New Year.

(1) I believe there is behind this magnificent universe a loving, merciful, omnipotent, almighty, forgiving God who created us in His image and He never stops loving us. (2) We will reap what we sow. That is God’s law. There is a judgment, and we will be there to give account of every idle word. (3) We are not right with God if we are not right with our brothers. The Bible tells us, “If you do not love your brother, you cannot love God.” (John 4:20) (4) Don’t expect life to be easy. Jesus died on a bloody cross at the age of thirty-three. There will be trials and tribulations for all of us. Remember that His grace is sufficient for all our needs. He will never forsake you. (5) Each is special to God and nothing can separate us from the love of God. His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me. (6) There is nothing broken in your life that cannot be mended. There is nothing in your life that needs to be done that you and God cannot achieve together. With God, all things are possible. (7) You can sit down in self-pity, blame others and feel sorry for yourself; or you can get up, use the talent God gave you and bring your life in line with His will, and loved ones and friends will applaud you. (8) There is a divine solution to every human problem. The Lord said to Jeremiah, “Call upon me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” (Jeremiah 33:3) (9) Always take the high road. You will never regret being kind, generous and doing the right thing. It may not be the easiest or smoothest road, but in the end it will be best and you will be glad. (10) If we do our best and have faith as little as a grain of mustard seed, nothing shall be impossible unto us. Mountains can be moved, you can reach the unreachable dreams, live the abundant life and know the peace of God. (11) We brought nothing into this world and it is certain we can carry nothing out. “What shall it profit a man if he should gain the whole world and lose his soul?" (12) Potentially, there is in each of us either a saint or a devil. The choices we make determine our destiny. We are responsible for what we become. No one by his own merit is worthy to enter the Father’s house, but all are invited. He has prepared a place for you. You and I choose to either accept or reject His invitation.

What you think about God will not change Him. He never changes! What you believe about God will determine where you spend eternity. May God help us!
