Do you remember mom teaching you to say please and thank you? Well that goes for prayer also. You should say please when you ask God to do something for you. And also the thank you for the things He has done for you.
But what do you pray? When you pray for a sick person, you should also pray for the family.
When your mom is sick, you have extra chores to do. Everyone is involved when someone is sick in the family.
When someone has died, you pray for comfort for the family. Pray that they know God is with them during this time.
You can pray for your preacher, and Sunday school teacher, and your school teacher. You can pray for them to have quiet and time to prepare. Pray for God to guide them. Pray for the ones to be there to listen. Pray for good behavior and no distractions while they are teaching.
You can pray for your friends that do not know Jesus. Pray that they have the faith to trust
Jesus, and believe in Him to forgive their sin. It can be hard for them to understand what that means. They may not have people they can trust.
Prayer is also a time to tell God about your world, and what you are feeling. He is that best friend that always cares for you and how you are feeling.
