Matt Warren, a local associate for The Home Depot store on Curtis Parkway has been named a national Home Depot “Legend”.

Only one of the company’s 300,000-plus associates receives this designation each week. Award recipients are chosen by The Home Depot’s executive vice president of U.S. stores, Marvin Ellison, for exemplary acts of customer or community service.

Warren, who helps local contractors as a Pro associate, was recognized as a Legend for living The Home Depot’s longstanding company value of “giving back” and for his diligence to make it happen. Specifically, he recruited a team of volunteers for a Team Depot project to fix a leaky roof for a customer whose son had passed away from cancer.

“All of our associates are encouraged to look for unique ways to assist customers, and Matt found a very special way of doing that,” said store manager David McKnight. “We’re honored that our store now has a nationally recognized Home Depot Legend, and we’re certainly proud that Matt was awarded for his community and customer focus.”

Recipients of The Home Depot Legends award are featured each week on the Company’s national internal television broadcast to all stores. These stories and others about The Home Depot associates from across the country can be found on the Internet at http://orangeblooded.net.
