Calhoun City Schools Superintendent Michele Taylor says she’s anticipating many fun-filled events, field trips and learning activities for Calhoun Elementary School students and parents for the 2010 school year.
There are many events already planned in January to kick of the winter months.
“Calhoun Elementary School will continue to have quarterly ‘Success Rallies’ where we’ll showcase the great works of our students,” Taylor said.
The first Success Rally of the school year is scheduled for Jan. 15.
The other exciting event is designed for parents.
“CES will hold its annual Fiesta of Learning on January 23,” Taylor said. “On this day we’ll have special parent training for those who want to learn to better ensure the success of their children in school.”
In the spring, students will present a special musical at the Calhoun Civic Auditorium and will have their annual field day events.
“CES will have field days for each grade level at the end of April,” Taylor said. “These field days are always sure to be a lot of fun for students as they compete in various events.”
As school winds down, there will be a career day May 4.
“On this day we’ll have members of our community representing an array of careers at school to present information to students about their respective field of work,” Taylor said.
