COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) — A Kia supplier will be holding a job fair to fill 250 production jobs at its plant in West Point.

Hyundai Mobis makes front, rear and cockpit chassis modules for the Kia Sorento crossover vehicle that is being manufactured at the nearby Kia plant, which began production in November.

Mobis is expected to take applications and interview workers at the Columbus Career Center Saturday morning. The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer says those who are hired will complete 12 hours of pre-employment training through the Georgia QuickStart program at West Georgia Technical College in LaGrange.

JUST ANOTHER EXAMPLE of how news of the the idiocy in Calhoun/Gordon County has reached a potential GA employer. It was no accident that this city/county wasn't even considered for this newest opportunity for jobs! Go ahead and preserve "downtown Calhoun" for historic purposes, while the rest of us move to other areas where EFFORTS TO CREAT NEW-JOB OPPORTUNITIES TAKE PRECEDENT OVER PRESERVING THE ARROGANCE OF PRESERVING IGNORANCE. STOP and SHOP ANYWHERE but Gordon County!
