Robertex is purchasing both the brand and assets of the company, and moving all operations to Calhoun, Len Andolino, Robertex executive vice president of sales and marketing confirmed.
“Carousel is a first-class luxury product and will be a great addition to the Robertex family of premium wool carpet and rugs,” said Bob Rothman, Robertex President. “We are excited about the opportunities to expand our customer base and to continue the remarkable legacy of quality and craftsmanship Carousel has created in the industry”.
No purchase price has been disclosed, but the 36-year-old Robertex has had an annual revenue of $20 million.
“This acquisition gives us additional stability as a total company,” said Andolino.
The company will offer both brands. Andolino said this gave the company “a significant advantage” because the company has its own dye – house facility.
“Which enables us to offer custom colors in a timely fashion,” Andolino said.
Robertex will interview some Carousel’s 38 employees to see who might interested in moving to Georgia.
Robertex currently employs close to 40 and specializes in natural wool, tuft rugs.
Gordon County Chamber of Commerce President Jimmy Phillips called the merger, “a great thing.”
“Anytime we get an opportunity to see one of our businesses expand and grow, I think it is great,” Phillips said.
