A Gordon County woman was pronounced dead on the scene of a single car collision Saturday afternoon.

According to Deputy Coroner, Heath Derryberry:

Deloris Barton, 60, of Calhoun was killed at around 4:30 p.m. after she lost control of her vehicle on Boone Ford Road and struck a tree.

Barton, according to Derryberry, was traveling west when she exited the roadway and then over corrected.

Barton's official cause of death was multiple blunt force trauma.

Derryberry said that speed was not a factor in the collision.

The Georgia State Patrol, post 43 is conducting the investigation.

A visitation for Barton will be held at Max Brannon Funeral Home from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.

A memorial will be held at 2 p.m. at Meadow Dale Baptist church, followed by a burial at Fain Cemetery.
