A federal judge denied bond for a Rome man accused of possessing and receiving child pornography after testimony revealed the man had violated several terms of a state bond -- including having contact with a child.

Chadwick Keith Brannon allegedly received several videos around August 2008 that contained a minor engaging in sex acts, and the videos were found on his computer after he was arrested on counterfeiting charges that October, according to the indictment.

Brannon was convicted of the attempting to pass a counterfeit $20 bill in Cherokee County, Ala. Federal agents confiscated more counterfeit money from a Rome residence as well as computer equipment they said were involved in the manufacture of the bills.

This was when, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Jones, federal agents allegedly found the videos in question on Brannon’s computer.

He was released on bond in Floyd County with five felony counts of sexual exploitation of a child, concerning the same incident. Part of his bond condition was to have no contact with children. However, testimony in a detention hearing on Wednesday revealed Brannon had slept in the same bed with a child on numerous occasions and attended a children's football game at least twice.
