Basketball: Ashworth girls fall to Cartersville

The Ashworth varsity girls lost a hard fought battle 55-49 on Thursday to Cartersville. Shawnda Martin led the team in scoring with 14 points. Ashley Farrell followed with 13 points. Shelby Wooden pulled down 10 rebounds while scoring 11 points. Kristi Vaughn netted 9 points while hitting the boards for 11 rebounds. Tiffany Lincoln rounded out the scoring with 2 points. “This was a great effort against a tough Cartersville team,” said head coach Melanie Moore.

JV

The Ashworth JV girls were defeated by Cartersville 23-13. Megan Campbell led Ashworth with 11 points. Ashlyn Kelly added 2. Becky Worsham pulled down 9 rebounds.
