An Adairsville man was pronounced dead after a single vehicle crash that occurred in Gordon County Sunday afternoon, according to the Georgia State Patrol post 43.

Jody Hight, 21 of Adairsville died from “substantial injuries” he received after he was thrown from his motorcycle, according to Deputy Coroner Heath Derryberry.

Hight was traveling northeast on Highway 225 near Highway 136 when he lost control of his mo-torcycle, ran off the roadway and hit a ditch.

The State Patrol does not believe drugs or alcohol played a factor in the accident, and Hight was wearing a helmet.

Derryberry said EMS personnel did respond and performed cardiac life support and Hight was transferred to Gordon Hospital.

“They attempted to revive him, but due o the massive amount of injuries, they were unsuccess-ful,” said Derryberry.

Hight was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
