Deputy sheriffs arrested a Calhoun man earlier this week after responding to a call of reported gunfire in the Farmville community.

Kristopher David McBee, 35, of 806 Mauldin Road in Calhoun, was arrested on Nov. 8 and charged with aggravated assault, reckless conduct, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, terroristic threats, and obstructing law enforcement.

Witnesses reported to deputies that they had been fired upon near a bonfire. Witnesses also stated that McBee had threatened another person with a handgun.

After a brief foot pursuit in a wooded area, deputy sheriffs and a local state trooper apprehended McBee.

Detectives later recovered the handgun believed to be the weapon used in the incident. McBee is now housed in the County Jail pending bond proceedings.
