GCHS, SHS fill shelves at Action Center

Local student leaders rallied alumni, family and friends to support the efforts of Gordon Central and Sonoraville High Schools in the fourth annual Cans From Fans challenge at the WJTH and WEBS radio studios recently. The final results - Gordon Central won with a total of 30,439 cans of food raised for the Voluntary Action Center. Gordon Central raised 16,967 and Sonoraville’s total was 13,472. Lori Rosen, VAC director, said, “The big winner is, of course, the families of Gordon County. Our pantry shelves were truly empty so this is a very timely event.”
