“The Clean Air Campaign’s new employer Partners in the Coosa Valley represent a variety of interests, but all have a stake in Rome’s air quality,” said Kevin Green, executive director of The Clean Air Campaign. “They join our current partner, the Coosa Valley RDC, making the morning and afternoon drive that much easier for the Coosa Valley’s 43,000 commuters.”
Enrolling in The Clean Air Campaign’s partnership program provides employers with no-cost assistance in designing commute options programs that encourage carpooling, vanpooling, teleworking, bicycling and other alternatives to driving alone. These programs save employees money on their commute costs, improve workplace morale and enhance productivity, in addition to reducing air pollution.
The Clean Air Campaign also offers commuter incentives and school-based programs to reduce vehicle travel and improve air quality. Drive-alone commuters can earn $3 per day, up to $100, when they make the switch to an alternative. Carpools of three or more can earn gas cards, and regular clean commuters can win monthly $25 prizes.
Employers in the Coosa Valley that are interested in joining The Clean Air Campaign and receiving consulting services at no cost can call 1-877-CLEANAIR (1-877-253-2624) or visit CleanAirCampaign.org/Coosa for more information.
About the Clean Air Campaign:
The Clean Air Campaign is a not-for-profit organization that works with Georgia’s employers, commuters and schools to encourage actions that result in less traffic congestion and better air quality. To accomplish this goal, The Clean Air Campaign, along with its associate organizations, works with more than 1,600 employers to create custom commute options programs; and annually helps thousands of commuters find commute alternatives that work for them, providing financial incentives to get them started. The Clean Air Campaign also protects public health by issuing Smog Alerts and empowers students, parents and teachers to play a positive role in reducing traffic and cleaning the air through a multi-faceted education program reaching elementary, middle and high schools.
