Calhoun Police are asking the public to assist in the capture of a man who is a suspect in the Monday robbery of the Georgia Bank and Trust on 135 W.C. Bryant Parkway.

According to Chief Garry Moss, at approximately 3:55 p.m. police responded to a report of armed robbery. Within minutes officers arrived on the scene where they were told a white male had entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money.

The suspect then pulled a hand gun and told the teller not to bring attention to him or he would start shooting.

The bank teller complied and the subject left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

According to Moss, the suspect is of average height and slight build with short brown hair.

He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, camouflage shorts and lace up boots. He appeared to have lanyard around his neck with a bar code attached.

The Calhoun Police are asking anyone with information to contact the criminal investigation division at 706-602-5755.

OKAY! They put this website forum up so the public could make comments, and now they want to tell those who comment what they can and cannot say on it. Does CENSORSHIP exist in their small cyberspace minds? Or are we only supposed to make comments that help to maintain the facade of Calhoun, a/k/a "Mayberry" and how "charming" this, and I use the word loosly, "town" is? Oh, please! Sorry that GBT proved to be less than "invincible." All those cameras, tellers, and bank officers and ONE man brings them to their knees! That really says something, doesn't it!
