A Calhoun man was arrested on Wednesday after allegedly stealing three packs of cigarettes from a local convenience store.

Ezzard Charles Smith, 47, was arrested outside of his home on Harlan Street after a clerk from the Hi- Tech Fuel on West Line Street called the Calhoun City Police. The clerk had allegedly witnessing Smith pocket the cigarettes.

Upon arrival at Smith’s apartment officers witnessed the offender tossing the cigarettes under a vehicle in the apartment complex apartment.
