Man arrested on charge of rape at assisted living home

Fairmount Police Department continue to investigate a reported rape at an assisted living facility in Fairmount.

According to Fairmount Police Chief Andy Key and reports from the Gordon County Jail:

Melvin Vicker Jr. was arrested on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 10 p.m. and charged with rape, aggravated sexual battery, simple battery, aggravated assault, three counts of aggravated sodomy, two counts of misdemeanor sexual battery, false imprisonment.

The incident allegedly happened earlier that day at Home Leigh Assisted Living at 2462 Highway 411.

No bond has been set.
