Three Gordon County locals were arrested last night following an investigation by the Gordon County Sheriff’s Department.

After following leads from witnesses, and conducting surveillance, the detectives from the department’s Major Crimes Unit arrested three local people in connection with the theft of a 1972 Chevrolet pickup truck reported stolen from Bradley County, Tenn. The truck was recovered at a private residence on Highway 41 in Calhoun.

On Tuesday, Oct.20 Lewie Mitchell Romine, 54, Kathy Ann Feagin, 42, and Jimmy Harold Fields, 54, all of 853 Hwy. 41, Calhoun were arrested.

All three have been charged with auto theft, and operating a 'Chop Shop.'

The three suspects are currently lodged in the Gordon County Jail pending bond proceedings. De-tectives also recovered additional physical evidence in the case from a storm drain near the crime scene.

Dear Johnnyscalhoun: I've done more than my fair share as a "volunteer" in this community over the years, and helped much of Calhoun in its darkest days. However, the true colors of the controlling families in this area never cease to come out through politics and local gossip. In the meantime, I'll continue to voice my opinion just like every one else does. Too bad that some of its residents actually think they've made a silk purse out of a sow's ear through their ignorant arrogance - maybe that's YOU, "Johnny."

I have never had a problem looking at the list. Maybe your link isn't correct. Here it is- http://www.gordoncounty.org/Portals/0/htm/departments/sheriff/registry.htm you can even click on their photos.

My question to do BS- Why don't you do something productive to make the community better? Or better yet, move.

DEAR PYTHON: First of all, please learn how to spell or know the difference between "grip" and "gripe." Second of all, you must be a relative to one of the six families that controls this city/county - no conspiracy theory, justfact. Calhoun/Gordon County has the well-deserved stigma of being a laughingstock of a town between Atlanta and Chattanooga. Judging by your defensiveness, I'd say you're a Gordon County native . . . and, in TOTAL DENIAL.

EVER TRY TO ACCESS GORDON COUNTY'S LIST OF SEXUAL OFFENDERS/PREDATORS? Not possible, under gordoncounty.org - probably because at least one of the six families that run the county have relatives on this list. BTW, you CAN go to the sheriff's dept. and ask, IN PERSON, to view the paper list - just so they can know who's checking up on who! While it may CLAIM to participate in sexual predator/offender lists and domains, in reality, it doesn't.
