On Oct. 8, 2009 the Calhoun Special Operations Division with the assistance of Immigration Customs Enforcement, Calhoun Police Patrol Division, and the Conasagua Safe Streets Task force conducted an undercover operation.

The operation consisted of an undercover agent contacting individuals advertising as escorts on Craigslist.

Arrested during the operation were Shannon Marie Richey 34, of 1018 County Rd. 156, Crossville Ala., Amber Nicole Gaston 27 of 2400 Westside Drive, Chattanooga Tenn., Tara Jamison Howard 34, of 117 Old Mill Ct, Carrollton Ga., Corrie Deantre Gillispie 35, of 4611 Mountain View Dr,. Chattanooga Tenn., and Mark Taylor Farmer 48, of 5391 Willbanks Dr, Chattanooga Tenn., and these individuals’ charges range from prostitution to pimping.

Sgt. J. Marquez, Commander Of the Calhoun Special Operations Division stated “This operation was conducted due to the major problem of prostitution being advertised on Craigslist” and Sgt. Marquez also stated” It was a joint effort between agencies to stop prostitution and narcotics use in the City Of Calhoun”.

The individuals arrested were transported to the Gordon County Sheriff’s Department for holding.
