Most of the building had been untouched since the last movie played in 1976, but Mr. King’s visit was the first day of the theater’s new life.
His father, Raymond, purchased the dilapidated theater in 2001 and formed Friends of the Gem Theatre. The group has raised about $850,000 and completed exterior renovations to the building, including a new roof, marquee and signs, but it still needs about $1.4 million to renovate the interior, he said.

Feeling left out, are we? And you volunteer exactly where to make this a better town? Talk is cheap, but judging others based on your own dysfunctional insecurities is downright ludicrous, if not actually the "ignorant" and "arrogant" you seem to consider yourself expert in, speaking for "the rest of the world."
The only "antics" I see are those of a foolish and vitriolic wag who delights in tearing down others in a vain attempt to avoid acknowledging their own miserable shortcomings.
