Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) announces the addition of an evening program for the Basic Law Enforcement Academy on the college’s Gordon County Campus. The evening courses will begin in January 2010.

The Basic Law Enforcement Academy program allows students to complete the Georgia POST requirements for law enforcement certification and 59 credit hours of academic course work at GNTC. Classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and the second and fourth Saturday of each month. Graduation for the evening academy is set for November 2010.

To qualify for entry, each student must be a US citizen and have a valid driver’s license. Students must also complete a background investigation. Financial aid, including the HOPE Grant, is also available for eligible students. Some fees are not covered by financial aid and are the responsibility of the applicant.

All applications for GNTC’s evening Basic Law Enforcement Academy must be completed by November 15, 2009.

For more information or to begin the registration process, please contact Delores McClellan at 706-624-1140 or visit the Basic law Enforcement Academy Office in Room 325 of the Gordon County Campus at Georgia Northwestern Technical College.
