Several posts see candidates vying for election

Two of Calhoun’s posts up for election this November have multiple candidates. Incumbent Ray Mitchell Denmon, incumbent, and Matt Barton both qualified for City Council Post 3.

School Board post 3 also has two names on the ballot – Chuck Faulkner and incumbent Eddie T. Hall.

City Council Post 4 is also up for election this year, with the only qualifying candidate being incumbent David Hammond. Calhoun School Board Post 1 and Post 2 will also be on the ballot with respective imcumbents Amy M. Atkinson and Rhoda Washington qualifying.

In Fairmount, City Council Post 1 has three names on the ballot: Jerry Jeffery Crook, Teru “Teddy” Lapaquette, and Max Mulkey. Post 3 has one name, Jim Dodd.

The City of Resaca has multiple candidates for both city council posts facing election this year. For Council Post 3, incumbe Alex Rosier, Charles E. Austin, and Jerry H. Veasey qualified. For Post 4, Johnny Brown and Mitch Reed qualified.

The City of Plainville will no have elections because the only candidates that qualified for office were both incumbents for City Council Post 3 and 4 who were respectively Scott Whittle and Frances Fossett.

Elections will be held on November 3, 2009. Those wishing to learn more about write-in candi-dacy can contact the city halls in the respective municipalities.
