Local Celebrity Performs Benefit Concert For HAC

Faye Pierce and Friends will be performing “An Evening with Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline” at the Harris Arts Center September 5 at 7pm. The benefit concert is being held to raise funds that help support art education programs at the HAC in Calhoun. Tickets are $20 General Admission (Seating Is Limited) and can be purchased by calling 706-629-2599 or at the Harris Arts Center at 212 South Wall Street in downtown Calhoun.

Pierce was born and raised in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The youngest of four-teen children, she started singing at age four. Pierce has been involved with various fundraisers including, Alzheimers, Cancer Awareness and the Harris Arts Center. She performs with her hus-band and two sons who have their own band called The VanLears, who recently signed with EMI Publishing and the Bobby Roberts Booking Agency who represents Rodney Atkins.

Pierce has recorded with, Barry and Holly Tashian, Al Perkins, Richard Bennett, Brent Truitt, Mike Compton, Kenny Malone, Hoot Hester, Andy Reiss, Johnny "Dumplin" Cox, Rick Vanaugh,Mark Thornton, Mark Miller, the late Randy Howard, and Dennis Crouch who produced her first record. She is four songs into her second record which is being produced by legendary pedal steel/dobro player AL PERKINS (Rolling Stones, Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris, Bob Dylan, Dolly Parton, and Stephen Stills).

She has performed shows with Brad Paisley, Merle Haggard, Buddy and Julie Miller, Barry and Holly Tashian. Faye also has a cut on the Johnny Cash Tribute Record "CASH ON DE-LIVERY" later released as "TRAIN OF LOVE" both on CMH RECORDS.This year Faye was selected to record four cuts on another CMH record "The Sweetest Gift" A Moms' Love.
