Rachel Marie Sobczak of Ranger and Jacob Aaron Thomas of Grand Forks, N.D., announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

The future bride is the daughter of Vina Sobczak of Ranger.

She attended Pathway Christian Academy and Northwestern Technical College and was formerly employed by the Calhoun-Gordon County Library.

She is the sister of Abraham Sobczak, and his wife Jill, of Tennessee and Rebekah Waid, and her husband, Kendall, also of Tennessee. She is the granddaughter of Col. (Ret.) William and Mary Collins.

The future groom is the son of James and Cathy Thomas of Adairsville. He attended Living Way Christian Academy and is a member of the United States Air Force. He is the brother of Joseph and Jordan Thomas.

The wedding will be Sept. 12 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
