Phil Reeve was a 1914 graduate of Calhoun High School. He organized and coached CHS’s first football team, which he named the Yellow Jackets. He was a charter member of the Quarterback Club, a member of the school board, and a tireless supporter of Calhoun’s youth. He was also very active in the Calhoun community as a member of Calhoun First Methodist Church, a charter member and president of the Rotary Club and a Mason. Phil and his wife Jewell had four children, Elizabeth Reeve Dreyer, Elsie Reeve Haynes, C.P. Reeve Jr. and Lawrence Reeve. Members of Phil Reeve’s family plan to attend the Calhoun / Dalton football game on Friday, August 28, 2009 at Phil Reeve Stadium where they will be honored during Pre-Game Festivities. We are proud to have his family back home at Calhoun High.
