State Rep. Tom Graves, R-Ranger, will hold his annual corn roast Saturday, Aug. 29, at Sandy Bot-tom Farm in Tate, Ga. This will be the 4th corn roast Graves has hosted for friends, families and supporters.
“The annual corn roast is an opportunity for those in the community to get together for good food and fellowship,” said Graves, who is a Republican candidate for the 9th Congressional District. “It’s an event people in my House District look forward to each year and I am pleased now that many new friends and supporters will be joining us from across the 9th District. It’s a great event and I en-courage everyone from around the 9th District to join us on Aug. 29.”
This year’s theme will be Fighting for Our Freedom and attendees will hear from Graves and his vision to protecting our liberty and getting this country back on track. State Senator Chip Pearson and State Representatives Stephen Allison, Jay Neal and Martin Scott are also slated to attend.
Participants will enjoy roasted corn from local 4-H Club members and barbecue. Music will be performed by the BC Boys.
The corn roast begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. The cost to attend the event is $25 per family or $10 per person. Please contact Anne Marie Sutherland in Graves’ office at 770-519-4019 or anne-marie@gravesforcongress.org for information about attending the event.
Graves also recently announced that his new campaign website www.GravesforCongress.org is live on the internet.
“My new site allows 9th District voters to become more involved in our campaign by staying up-to-date on our activities and learn more about how I’ll represent them in Congress,” said Graves. “We’ll use this website to spread our message of protecting liberty and empowering people.”
At the site, voters are able to get campaign updates through Twitter and Tom’s Blog, view videos and pictures from the campaign trail and learn more about the four-term State Representative and his positions, as well as have access to important information regarding voting in the 2010 election.
