The Gordon County Sheriff's Office is investigating two commercial burglaries which occurred during the early morning hours of Aug. 18.
Cherokee Grocery at 1386 Highway 53 and at Nell's Market at 602 Highway 53 were both burglarized.
In both instances, the burglars forced open the front doors and took money and cigarettes. The deputy sheriffs arrived within six minutes of receiving the alarm calls.
According to the filed report, investigating detectives believe that the two crimes were committed by the same persons, and are possibly linked to similar crimes in Bartow County the same morning.
Detectives are looking for three black males. The men were believed to have worn hats and masks during the break-ins, and were believed to have been driving a late model four-door Chevrolet Malibu and a while late model SUV.
Sheriff Mitch Ralston is urging anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity at either location on the date of the burglaries, to call the sheriff's office detective division at 706-629-1244.
