The Georgia State Patrol confirmed two people died in a Sunday wreck on Interstate 75 near Calhoun.

According to Brian Burchett of the GSP Calhoun post:

A one-vehicle wreck occurred around 3:30 p.m. on I-75. According to Burchett, Ashley Hurd, 26, was driving northbound around mile marker 320 when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a guardrail.

Two passangers, Chad Hurd, 26, and a six-year-old passanger were both thrown from the vehicle and killed on impact.

The child was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Northbound lanes were closed for almost two hours while emergency crews and GSP officials investigated the crash.

The interstate was re-opened to traffic by 5:15 p.m.

I was a member of one of the responding emergency vehicles. Both killed were passengers. The mother/wife was driving. It was horrible. The mother/wife, however, only sustained minor injuries, but she was en route to Dalton before Fire/PD got there. It was the most tragic accident I have ever worked. Never want to see it again. My thoughts and prayers are also with the families involved.

As a traveler going south moments ater this horrible accident, my family and I witnessed the aftermath before any emergency vehicles arrived on scene. We are still trying to cope with what we saw. Our thoughts and prayers are with the survivor and the family(s) of the casualties. Please keep us posted on the condition of the driver.

The article says "passengers" so I assume that neither was driving. The article doesnt mention who the driver was

I am a little confused about this story. The Dalton paper is saying that the man and little girl that were killed were the only 2 in the car. This story is stating that his wife was driving. Which one is correct?
