Gordon County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man after he beat his ex-wife and caused a local elementary school to go on lockdown.

According to Chief Deputy Robert Paris:

Jason Galmon, 33, of 316 Red Bud Road, was arrested without incident around 2 p.m. Wednesday. He was charged with aggravated battery, three counts of cruelty to children, two counts of theft, and criminal damage to property. He allegedly got into a fight with his ex-wife on Tuesday night. She was taken to the hospital and later released. Paris said it’s not the sheriff's office’s policy to release vic-tim’s names.

The couple’s children attended Red Bud Road and school officials made the decision to lock down as a precaution until he was arrested, Paris said.
