Bud Owens of Calhoun was recently elected to a two-year term as president of the Georgia Association of Agricultural Fairs.

He has previously served two terms on the state Board of Directors and two terms as an officer.

For more than 20 years, Owens has been involved with the Cherokee Capital Fair Association, a volunteer community organization which operates the Northwest Georgia Regional Fair in Gordon County.

“It is an honor to be elected to serve and represent community leaders from across the state who invest their time, talent and finances in keeping the tradition of fairs alive in their communities,” Owens said.
