Bicyclists from across Georgia and Tennessee enjoyed clear skies and cool temperatures on a scenic route through Gordon County Saturday, March 9, on the Tornado Rally benefit bicycle ride.

Teachers Aaron McCorkel and Ray Reece from Adairsville High School teamed up with teachers, Jackie and Marcus Palazzolo from Sonoraville High School, in a joint effort that raised more than $1,000 to support relief efforts from the January 30 tornado that hit Gordon and Bartow Counties Touring 25 miles through Gordon County, riders, biked through the areas south of the Sonoraville community before turning north towards Boone Ford and Cash Rd. areas.

Support for the event was provided by: City Ballet, the Gordon County Sheriff’s office, Adairsville High School, Sonoraville High School, Prater Ford, Wall Street Catering, Beth and Company T Shirt designs, Sonoraville Baptist Church, Toilets Galore, the Velo Vineyard, Calhoun City Streets Dept., Home Depot, Jason Sloan, and the Beta Tau chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma members Amelia Lord and Mary Nell Podgorny.
